que tus juicios son justos,
y que en tu fidelidad
me has afligido.

Que los juicios del Señor son justos, creo que ninguno de nosotros lo pondría en duda; lo creemos con todo el corazón y esa es una de las razones que nos mantiene perseverando en el Camino.
Sin embargo, que en su fidelidad nos aflige es algo más difícil de aceptar o comprender. Hay quienes incluso niegan con vehemencia esta afirmación porque tienen una espiritualidad triunfalista, asumiendo que Dios nos libra de aflicciones.
El salmista sugiere que las aflicciones son una muestra del amor de Dios por sus hijos. ¿Podemos creer que realmente Dios en su fidelidad nos da aflicciones?
Cuando todo está bien, nos sentimos contentos y nuestros asuntos van como "sobre ruedas", entonces la alabanza y la adoración a Dios fluyen, nacen en forma espontánea. Pero el verdadero ejercicio de la fe, la confianza absoluta en Dios sólo se prueba en las dificultades.
Desde mi punto de vista, la dinámica de nuestra relación personal con el Señor es muy parecida a la relación Padre-hijo. Dios es un Padre sabio y generoso y nosotros somos hijos "enseñables", en desarrollo y con muchas lecciones por aprender.
Las palabras del salmista nos confrontan con una verdad compleja ¿Podemos, de todas maneras, por fe, dar gracias a Dios porque en su fidelidad nos aflige?
¡Oh Señor, gracias por el misterio de tu amor
que nos aflige y nos perfecciona para ti!

That the judgments of the Lord are right, I think none of us would question it, I believe with all my heart and that is one reason that keeps us persevering in the Way.
However, “in faithfulness you have afflicted me”,
is more difficult to accept or understand. Some even vehemently deny this claim
because they have a triumphant spirituality, assuming God delivers us from
afflictions.
The Psalmist suggests that afflictions are a sign of
God's love for his children. Can we really believe that God, in His faithfulness
gives us afflictions?
When all is well, and we are happy and everything flow
smoothly then praise and worship to God is born spontaneously. But the true exercise of faith,
absolute trust in God is tested only in the difficulties.
From my point of view, the dynamics of our relationship
with the Lord is very similar to the father-son relationship. Father God is wise and generous
and we are "teachable" children in development with many lessons to
learn.
The psalmist's words confront us with a complex truth. Can we, however, by faith,
thank God for his faithfulness in afflicting us?
Oh Lord, thank you for the mystery of your love
that in faithfulness
afflicted us
